After various meetings with FreyZein team in the past years through different textile events across Europe, we are happy to announce that we started a collaboration in June 2024, in the framework of the EU Project IN TRANSIT.
It enabled us to launch together the GreenWeave project, which focuses on the development of sustainable, high-performance textiles using hemp-derived cellulose (RBX) combined with cutting-edge nanocellulose technology (FreyZein). This collaboration brings together sustainability, performance, and environmental impact, making it a future-ready solution for technical textiles and insulation applications. It is an opportunity for us to enlarge the use of Iroony® in the textile sector through a different downstream transformation step focused on nanocellulose. Technical screening and testing have been achieved for first prototyping in insulation material.
Part of the project team met in the fields of hemp and miscanthus in Normandy this summer.
